For the last 3 years, my health has become very important to me, as I suffered a mild heart attack 7 years ago. It took me a while to get to the point where I didn’t want to be a statistic or be on medication for the rest of my life. Since then I have had a wearable, to track my heart rate, my exercise routine and just my everyday health. LifeQ has taken wearable watches to a new level of tracking your heart rate, fitness, sleep, and general activity. When I contracted Covid-19, my wearable sent out a warning signal that everything wasn’t quite right, as my heart rate and sleep pattern changed from my normal everyday average levels. My test result came back positive and if it wasn’t for the early warning given, I would have put my own life at risk as well everyone I came into contact with.
I’d just like to thank you for being our leader and for driving our company the way that you do. I feel privileged to be back with my LifeQ team and I couldn’t be happier and more content as a person. Something that I’d like to give you some feedback on: I am bowled over at your involvement with the team and each of the projects. I feel truly inspired when I am sitting in a Zoom meeting with you - both internal and external meetings - and it makes me motivated to work even harder. Thank you Laurie, it's really rare to have a CEO so involved. I’m very proud of everything that has been achieved and I look forward to an even more successful and rewarding year.
My husband and I have been curious about the high heart rates that my wearable measured for me during sleep. I am not specifically fit, but it did not line up with my general physical condition and other measurements of my health, which showed a very normal to even low blood pressure and no values outside the reference ranges. After having my high resting heart rate dismissed as benign by several general practitioners, we made an appointment to see a cardiologist. I was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect, which is a heart condition that can be surgically fixed. I had a 15mm hole connecting the two halves of my heart. I had this fixed surgically and my resting heart rate decreased by nearly 15 beats per minute. According to published studies, this intervention can contribute as much as a 20 year increase in my overall life expectancy.
